With each new season I feel compelled to style my home so it coincides inside with what the weather is like outside. For fall, I like to play with textures and bring in darker colors and softer, fluffier fabrics.
This fur throw paired with soft and velvety pillows do just that.
I can also never have too many pumpkins or fall florals in my home during this season. The vibrant colors of both add so much to the space. I prefer berries, sticks and leafy florals for the autumn floral arrangement. What’s so great about this foliage is that it lasts so much longer than a more flowery display.
Darkening my color scheme in the fall is also a must- even if it’s just switching out the art to make it feel a little more like the season.
Another corner where softer fabrics add so much to the fall feel. On the ottoman I just added the green velvet pillow to make it more seasonal.
In this piano room I just changed the lampshade to black, added some leafy florals, a plaid pillow on the bench and some pumpkins on the piano- simple additions without looking too overdone for the season.
So softer textures, darker colors, fall foliage and pumpkins are all you need to make your home feel warm and cozy during the autumn season when you spend so much more time indoors!
