This bedroom was a labor of love for a girl after my own heart! She loves color, simplicity and uniqueness so I was happy to deliver her just that. She had a few requests such as a desk, sheer canopy above the bed and seating for friends, but other than that, she left it to me.

She already had some great pieces for me to work with such as this adorable hot pink record player and cute pink typewriter pictured below. These prints above the dresser from Reality and Retrospect were the perfect addition for a colorful, eclectic space.

This Ikea dresser just needed a refresh by adding these gold handles from Rejuvenation. The black and white striped pin board on the wall by the bed was made from sound board purchased at a local hardware store then covered in fabric using a staple gun. It’s the perfect way to get the size of pin board (or ‘idea’ board as I like to call it) you want as well as much less expensive.

A desk area is one of the items I think every teenager needs in their bedroom, especially if they have room for it. This desk doubles as a vanity since we hung a mirror above it. Having a space of their own to do homework and make-up is a must for a teenager.

Fun little signs and sayings make the space personal and whimsical- something else I think is so important for a tween’s bedroom. I definitely have to think more playful when I’m designing these spaces so it feels comfortable for a younger client.

A luxurious bed and ombre painted accent wall were the highlights in this space. Thank goodness the homeowner is a creative genius- she did an amazing job with the ombre wall!

Little touches like flamingo sheets and a light up ‘hello’ sign gave this teen bedroom that eclectic and fun feel that I was going for.

Such a fun space for a FABULOUS girl!!!!
